 David A. Shapiro has over 20 years experience in all aspects of prosecuting and defending commercial litigation matters, including construction defect cases, mechanic lien matters, forcible entry and detainer/lease litigation, mortgage foreclosures, shareholder and partner disputes, bank litigation, breach of contract cases, defense of consumer claims, both on a class-wide and individual basis, product liability, condominium litigation, and EEOC/employment claims. Mr. Shapiro has litigated extensively in both state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels, and has participated in a variety of mediation and arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Shapiro has been admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Tax Court, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Arizona. Mr. Shapiro received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech from Northwestern University in 1976 and earned a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1980. Following law school, Mr. Shapiro served as a Cook County Assistant State's Attorney for 5 years, where he handled numerous trials and appeals, including matters pending before the U.S. and Illinois Supreme Courts.
