 Aaron M. Gillett practices in the areas of corporate law, real estate law, and commercial litigation. He has experience structuring and negotiating commercial transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of businesses and real estate, as well as drafting and negotiating business contracts. Mr. Gillett has represented a wide variety of clients, ranging from financial institutions, municipalities, and mid-sized corporations to small companies, restaurants, and start-ups, in all aspects of their business. He has also represented both plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract cases, lease disputes, and bankruptcy and creditor matters. During law school, Mr. Gillett worked in the legal department of a multi-national corporation in the food safety and quality industry.
Mr. Gillett received a Bachelor of Arts, with distinction, in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he also earned a Certificate in Business Law and was named to the Order of the Coif. He is licensed in Illinois and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Gillett is a member of the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations and volunteers as a pro bono attorney for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and JUF Community Legal Services.
